Environmental Aspects
Environmental considerations were of primary importance during MIR.1200 design development. In the conditions requiring decrease in greenhouse gases production, the MIR.1200 project is capable to contribute to provision of energetic safety as well as energetic and ecological stability of world economy.
At present, nuclear power industry is the only technological and financially competitive source of „clean” electrical power. Implementation of the MIR.1200 project in Temelin NPP will enable to increase the competitiveness of the Czech Republic in the field of electrical power supplies and it will also contribute to its economical and industrial development. MIR.1200 is a highly effective and environmentally safe project that will serve to both the current and future generations.
