Date: 20. 12. 2017

ŠKODA JS a.s. has won the "Exporter of the Year 2017" award. In the category Export Growth 2015-2016 (large exporters above CZK 500 million) it ranked first.

The organizers of the competition appreciated the dynamics of the export growth, in the period 2015 - 2016 Škoda JS increased its exports by 1.261 billion crowns (93.7 %). Aircraft Industries and engineering company Buzuluk were ranked second and third.

Within the separate category "Best Exporters according to the Bisnode Rating", Czech companies with the highest annual growth in exports were ranked according to their own, internationally recognized Top Rating methodology. According to the Bisnode rating, the most successful exporter of 2016 is ŠKODA JS. The prestigious Top Rating award is an internationally recognized rating issued by Bisnode based on the Dun & Bradstreet methodology. "Only companies that have been meeting the strict D&B Rating requirements for long time can win this award. The certificate is internationally recognized and confirms the minimum level of risk in terms of cooperation with the awarded company," says Jiří Skopový, the Bisnode CEO. Only companies that have kept D&B Rating at best grade 1 for at least 12 months are eligible to receive the award.

"ŠKODA JS a.s. is an export-oriented company since the 1980s. In the first three quarters of this year, the share of export sales rose from 56% to 67%. The key export market remains Slovakia, where we are essentially involved in the completion of Mochovce NPP 3 & 4, followed by Ukraine and Hungary. For example, in 2016 we exported products and services to 16 countries. This year, besides the contracts for the established markets, we have also signed a contract for delivery of the RRCS system for the Metsamor NPP in Armenia, amounting to circa 180 million crowns. We hope that we will engage in the construction of new units that are being built by Rosatom in Finland, Hungary and Turkey," said Josef Perlík, Chairman of the Board and General Director of ŠKODA JS. "We offer a lot more than piece supplies, we offer key deliveries including engineering and project management. We have gained experience in construction, operation and modernization of nuclear power plants in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Bulgaria, Finland, Armenia and Ukraine. We are looking forward to using at home the experience gained in international projects, as in the Czech Republic the issue of new nuclear resources is becoming more and more urgent. According to key documents, decisions on how to select a supplier and funding should be made during the first half of this year. Czech companies have a huge potential to participate in this task."
