Czech studensts find inspiration at scientific workplaces in Saint Petersburg

Cooperation within international consortium opens a new dimension for the support of the Czech education system focused on technical branches, which is what the ŠKODA JS, Atomstroyexport and Gidropress companies percieve as presumption for sucessfull development of not only Czech power industry.

This cooperation has influenced the implementation of the support of the Committee of Good Will – Olga Havel Foundation´s Education Fund, whose scholarship holders study at technical schools as well. The intention of the Consortium and OHF´s first common project was to make the students acquainted with the process of the Leningrad Nuclear Power Plant–Phase II construction process, and with the place where the project of solution offered for the Temelín NPP is being developed.
During their study tour at the beginning of July, the scholarship holders used the oportunity to gain exclusive information directly from top professionals. This tour was organized and secured by the ŠKODA JS and Atomstroyexport companies and by the Saint Petersburg Research and Design Institute ATOMENERGOPROEKT (SPbAEP) that also took up the part of host greatly.
On the basis of the students´ references and their evaluation of the tour´s contribution to enlargement of their qualification and to their future job excercise, the Committee of Good Will – Olga Havel Foundation appreciated SPbAEP and the Consortium members´ support. „We wanted to support the CGW Education Fund, however we had other interests as well – we can hardly create knowledge economy whose branch the nuclear power industry is, without well qualified young people,“ said Mr. Roman Zdebor, the MIR.1200 project manager.
