Component modernization
The program of modernisation is represented by a system of activities leading to:
- extending component service lifetime
- increasing output of existing power units
- increasing operation safety
- shortening the outage duration
- decreasing the amount of non-effective inspections and tests
- decreasing the collective amount of personnel
This results in the development of new equipment, which has an influence on the plant operation economy in terms of lifetime, parameters and safety.
The modernization of fixtures and equipment used for installation operations is generally aimed at shortening the outage duration. By making the equipment more effective extra time falls off and the duration of the actual technological operation is reduced.
Development of modernized PRO-M type drives for VVER 440
The up-to-date project:
More than 200 drives were ordered for Paks NPP and unit 3 and 4 at Mochovce NPP, will be supplied till 2012
Development of modernized LKP-M/3 (drives) of the third generation for VVER 1000
The up-to-date project:
Two sets of drives were ordered for Temelin NPP, one set for Rovenska NPP
Seismic reinforcement of the instrumentation and control system
The I&C system also requires protection against seismic events. SKODA JS has positive experience with performing different supporting safety calculations and actual implementation of instrumentation and control systems in accordance with seismic requirements. The applications include the increase in the control desk seismic stability.
Fixtures and manipulators
SKIN manipulator used for in-service inspections of the reactor pressure vessel
Service of the block of electromagnet of LKP drive (VVER 1000) by the use of manipulating wrench
